One of the most stressful things I have heard anyone dealing with us being the Maid of Honor. Recently I had a friend who was chosen for this most prized position, and she says it is almost as nerve racking as being the bride herself. Only the difference is, the special day is for the bride, and you don’t want to ruin, so you do everything to please.

Some of the maid of honor duties that come along with being the maid, are taking care of the bachelor party, and also planning out parts of the wedding itself if the bride delegates the maid of honor to do so. This could be making sure a themed wedding is set just right, or ensuring that the people who will be working for the bride and groom are there and operating at the right times.

Other duties include helping the bride choose her dress, as well as lots and lots of praise from what I hear. Of course any bride wants praise and likes to feel extra special around the wedding date. While everything is not always fun and games, the main thing is that the bride recognizes her maid of honor is there to help and not hurt. Many times the bride can get easily upset with all the stress going on and make the wedding occasion unhappy for everyone.

A good maid of honor will make sure the bride is as relaxed as possible and will build on any positive aspects possible where the bride may nit pick. If you are a maid of honor you have a lot of work ahead of you. We wish you the best and if you have any questions you can leave a comment here below so others can see. Hang in there and be blessed.
