College Is Way Too Expensive

October 21st, 2009

Our children are about to enter high school and suddenly the reality of paying for college is upon us. We started college savings plans for both our children years ago and now we’re wondering if there is going to be enough resources there to pay for their college.

The expenses go well beyond tuition when it comes to going to college. College savings plans allow you to save for all related expenses and going to college and preparing to go to college. What expenses are covered with college savings plans? Essentially, anything that you can relate to preparing to go to college, such as test preparation courses, campus visits, and things like that are covered. When you actually get to college things like tuition, room and board transportation and personal expenses are all covered.

The bottom line is it all adds up to a lot of money to get an education. The downside is even with a college education finding a job still might be easy for these kids. At the end of the day however, we are glad we prepared for college by investing in college savings plans. Our family budget is going to be pretty happy about it as well.
