Signs of Depression

Depression is one of those psychological conditions that can be quite devastating to both the person suffering from it and their family and friends. The psychology behind it involves identifying the signs of depression. Here is a list of some of the things that might tip you off as to your own or someone you know having depression:

They feel sad, gloomy, or “empty” for more than several weeks.
There is often a feeling of hopelessness.
They feel like they are helpless or worthless.
They have thoughts of suicide or death.
They have physical complaints like headaches that don’t get better with treatment.
They have difficulty concentrating and often forget things.
They are restless or agitated often.
They have a loss of appetite and loss of normal thoughts towards food.
They often suffer from fatigue and slow motion.
They have insomnia.

If you have several of these signs, then it is safe to assume that you suffer from depression.
